Ford Cortina mk2 series one, resto mod, all original body, nice patina

  
Hi, thanks for looking at my lovely old cortina mk2, she's an early series one mk2. She really is a one off and I will be genuinely gutted to see her leave. So I need to clear some of my collection. So let's start where I started. I bought the car in 2018 from a chap who brought it back from Portugal so was a lhd car.. An old boy had this car and apparently only used for shopping and church on Sunday.

Which I can believe as the low miles it had on and the hot climate preserved the little cortina. I fell in love as soon as looked around it. All original spot welds all over the car too to bottom and underneath. Mostly original paint with a nice shuttle patina.. It's just rubbed through on some edges.

All doors open and close with minimal effort as does the boot and bonnet, the doors still have the factor plastic on!! Original seals and rubber except from front and rear windscreens. Interior is ruby red and did have a bench seat but I've put twin in seats, I also have the spare rear seat cover to match for any repairs needed. My plan was to keep it simple and leave the body and interior and chrome work as is, and update engine, gearbox and suspension to make more usable classic car.. But I got carried away and spent well over 20k?? Here's a list of the parts and spec. 2.0 zetec ST170 engine (86k miles when fitted). Omex throttle body kit with omex 710 series ecu for v-tec, making 168bhp on dyno, would have made more but apparently needed different air filters.

Separate swirl pot for the injection system with airquipe conectora throughout with braided lines. 6 speed Mazda Rx8 gearbox. English rear axle with tranX clutched type LSD.

Front 2.25 coil over with adjustable GAZ shocks front and back. Four pot callipers on the front. Steering rack conversion with 2.7 quick rack. Retro Ford ally cast sump.

Retro Ford coolant hose kit. Retro Ford rwd thermostat pipe. Electronic smiths speedo and Rev counter and the axillary gauges in there own custom made pod with battery cut off for extra peace of mind. Battery is located in the boot. Not going to list all the little things but everything that was added to the car was brand new.

Apart from engine and gearbox. Has only done around 500 miles since finishing and not really getting used. There will be loads I missed and not mentioned so if there's anything you need to know the give a message/call and I'll be happy to help. Bank transfer upon collection only please.
